$50 per month can make a huge impact
The children in our program have been identified by our community leaders as the most vulnerable children in their areas.
What is child sponsorship?
Our program will be run a little bit differently than some others, but we think that is a good thing. In treating children and families with malnutrition, we have a revolving door of children being treated and then sent home, which makes it hard to get those children paired up with a sponsor. We see hundreds of children each month. But sometimes we run across children who need more long term care and attention in order to prevent falling back into malnutrition. These children and families have been identified by our community leaders as the most vulnerable in their areas, and Partner Haiti is committed to making sure they are taken care of.
Our sponsorship program will only have one sponsor per child. Because of this, our monthly price will be a little higher. But we believe pairing one family with your family is more align with our mission of family empowerment.
What benefits does the child get?
The child you are paired with becomes one of twenty children in our program. They receive a school uniform, backpack, supplies, a monthly food donation for their family, and free medical care. They are also served a hot meal every Friday at the Malnutrition Center. Essentially, these kids become family, and we take care of their basic needs that aren’t currently being met.
What can the sponsor expect?
We will send photos and a short update in September and in March of your sponsored child. If you choose to, you may also send a picture of your family to info@partnerhaiti.org and we will get a printed picture to the child. If you would like to send a gift at Christmas you can send a monetary donation before December 1st. You can decide if you would like our staff to purchase a gift with that money, or if you’d like to give the money directly to the family to use as needed. The Christmas gift is optional and is not expected.
How much does it cost?
$50 per month. In addition to the monthly support, we ask that you send an extra $50 the first month you start sponsoring so we can purchase the initial items needed for school i.e.: uniform, books, shoes, backpack, lunchbox, etc.
How do I sign up?
Step 1- Send an email to info@partnerhaiti.org and let us know you would like to become a sponsor. Our director will reach out to you to provide you with information and get you matched with a child.
Step 2-Make a $50 monthly recurring donation at www.partnerhaiti.org. For your first month we ask that you add an extra $50 for school start up costs.
Step 3- You will receive a package in the mail with the child’s picture and information about them. You will also receive this via email.
