KWASHIORKOR MALNUTRITION is on the rise

KWASHIORKOR MALNUTRITION is on the rise as the United Nations declared Haiti to be in a Catastrophic Stage 5 FAMINE.

With Malnutrition Centers and hospitals closing their doors due to security concerns, we are left having to treat more complicated cases on our own. Our nurses are experienced enough to do so, but the lack of hospital care is being felt even in our area. Our nurses are treating severe malnutrition, pregnancy complications, and cholera every single day. It is more important than ever to equip these healthcare workers with everything they need to save lives. Our partner clinic will be meeting about how we can expand our services during this crisis to ensure people get the life-saving care they need.

For now we are focused on feeding children, providing basic medical care, providing ambulance and emergency services, and walking along side of women in their pregnancies. The people of Haiti are living in some really hard times and they are suffering. But our health workers are passionate and ready to serve the people of their communities. We are grateful we can stand behind them and give them the support they need.
