Update from the field…
We have been expanding our reach in rural Haiti and have been able to help countless men, women and children since we first started. Through the Prenatal Program our nurses follow women throughout their entire pregnancy and offer a safe delivery with a nurse or a midwife. If complications arrive we provide access to life-saving care that saves the life of both mom and baby. Through the Malnutrition Program our nurses are providing malnutrition treatment, education, follow-up and emergency care. This program is saving hundreds of children each month! Through the Family Assistance Programs we have began distributing livestock to families in need, sending children to school, and helping the families who need it most in the area we work in. We hope to begin a feeding program soon where we can feed children and families each day and prevent malnutrition before it starts!
Meet our Nurses
Partner Haiti has hired 3 nurses who work with families and children each week, holding clinics, doing education, and treating malnutrition. These 3 nurses are from rural Haiti and went to nursing school in order to go back and help their communities. Providing jobs for them helps them support their own families. They make significant sacrifices to serve vulnerable families in some of the most remote places in the country. We are so grateful for our nurses!
